A least 12 young people a week in the UK, that’s over 600 a year collapse and die from problems with their heart that they did not know they had. The vast majority of these deaths are totally preventable and all for want of a simple 5 minute ECG overseen by an expert cardiologist.

Please take a look at this 1 minute video that was shown by SKY sports immediately before the recent England vs Australia rugby match.

Details of how to book a slot at the screening clinic are contained in the attached letter from CRY. Please read it carefully. The screening event is open to all within the Old Dunstonians sporting community, siblings and friends.

CRY will be bringing their mobile screening clinic and an expert team to Old Dunstonians Sports Club, St. Dunstans Lane, Beckenham BR3 3SS. This team screens amongst others many of the premier league clubs, England Cricket, Football and Rugby teams and Olympic athletes.

Please note that screening appointments are on a first come first served basis and must be booked online before 24th February 2015. Your child must be at least 14 years of age on the date of screening or if booking for yourself you must be not older than 35. If you book a slot please turn up or you will be denying someone else the opportunity to be screened.

Following the support of the Old Dunstonians Pink Elephant Ball, which raised the full amount to screen 100 young people, the screening is free but if you want to make a donation to Ben’s Memorial Fund to cover the cost of future screenings at Old Dunstonians for other young people, you can do so at www.justgiving.com/bendaniels. Please reference ODSC in your donation.
