A great morning with Park House

After the rain of Saturday the sun shone on Sunday morning and we had a great mixed training session with Park House

It was Remembrance Sunday so we had a 2 minute silence at 11am which the boys honoured perfectly.

We played a few festivals last year with Park House so we quickly got to know each other again and settled into drills. Some work on side-steps was followed by one-on-ones and then two-on-ones before moving into a series of game situations with some focussed discussion between scores.

We were short of couple of players so thanks to Max, Will and Daniel for becoming ODs for the morning. There was some great work on pushing up quickly in defence and making sure the line was held. All of the boys were great and Park House struggled to get any sort of score.

Then it was our turn to attack and we scored pretty consistently. Really good recycling of the ball from both ruck and maul situations, with Luke and Matthew being very strong at the ruck and ripping the ball in the maul. Jackson as usual made some very good runs, and a promising display from Ceon who had joined us last week.

Through the session we tried to create more passing opportunities, using the two-on-one practice we did at the start, and really proud to say that the last 10 minutes or so produced some of the best rugby I have seen from the boys. Great passing just before the tackle, and offloading in the tackle meant that game really flowed and involved everyone resulting in some really good looking tries.

A huge thank you to Alex and his boys for making us so welcome and his kind words at the end
