The boys showed great heart, courage and determination in the end of season Kent Finals

Matthew, Luke, Cion, Henry and Olly were joined by 5 boys from our friends at Park House to create a great team

Our first game was against Bromley 2; from the very first moment we played some great rugby with strong running, positive rucking and some nice passing to set up a try within the first 30 seconds. We continued in the same vein for the rest of the game and ran out worthy 5 - 1 winners

The second game was much tougher against Dartfordians 2, who had a couple of good early tries and we struggled to get momentum. The second half was a completely different story and we scored 3 good tries, but the damage had been done and we lost 3 - 7.

The last game was always going to be the hardest against Sevenoaks 2 who were unbeaten. Once again we started slowly, but we never gave up, showed real character to keep going and scored a couple of good tries. Although we lost the game this performance really showed what the team was about. The boys never dropped their heads, gave absolutely everything for each other and as a coach and a dad I could not have been more proud of them.

This was Cion's first festival and he did well, had a number of strong runs, showed tremendous strength in the maul and really did well to get the ball away out of the tackle and keep play going.

Henry played scrum half, showing real bravery digging into the rucks and mauls to get the ball and distributing nicely, frequently to Olly who has really come on through this year. He is a direct and powerful runner and seems to love taking on the opposition.

Matthew and Luke played their usual game, some great jinking runs, ferocious tackling and never say die attitude that kept everyone going

Of course we would not have been able to play without the Park House boys and many thanks to James, Jack, Mac, Daniel and Josh, all of whom were simply excellent. A special thank you to their coach Alex who tries to instill the same values as we do, making playing together so much easier.

We have one more festival to go, after Easter, and then one more training session before the end of the season. It has been great to coach the boys this season and I am already looking forward to next year. In the meantime lets get ready for the next festival and do our best one more time
