This year the Pink Elephant VII will once again be taking part in the Bournemouth 7s. Click through for more details...

For the second time the Club will be taking part in the Bournemouth 7s. Launched in 2008, this is the World’s Largest Sport and Music Festival and takes place every year on the last Bank Holiday weekend in May, attracting over 30,000 sports enthusiasts and festival goers.

The Pink Elephant VII were unable to obtain a place in one of the two day social cups due to the amount of sides participating this year but they were successful in securing a place in the one day Jäger Cup on the Sunday against sides like University of Plymouth and the more colourfully named Tyrannosaurus Flex, The Other Guys and Fat Fingered Dwarf RFC to name a few. Even though a social cup the rugby can be very competitive. In 2015 we entered a squad of 20 people into the Beer Cup. At the group stage we won 2 and lost 1 finishing second in the group and progressing through to the knock out stages where we were knocked out at the quarter final stage. This year we have an all new strip (main image) and all new sponsors that we will be donning the field in in hopes of success.

To fill the void on the Saturday the Pink Elephants will be entering the Dodgeball competition, a first for most of our players, run by Dodgeball UK. They are the official Dodgeball Partners of Bournemouth 7s Festival and are responsible for the delivery of the Dodgeball Cups over the Festival weekend.

There is plenty to do in the evening for those camping with plenty of beer tents and later on a wide range of night life for those still with energy in their legs.

The whole weekend starts on the Friday with doors opening at midday for campers and players. For the general public and day supporters the gates open at 9am on the Saturday. The same goes for the Sunday.

If any ODs find themselves at a loose end on the Sunday and fancy watching the boys run out and cheering them along please consider coming along on. Day tickets are still available and although they look expensive there is plenty going on to cover that cost. More info can be found HERE

Good luck to all the boys taking part and lets hope they come back with some silverware and heads that aren't too sore.
