Match Preview

So pre-season for the club is now in full swing and just like that the first match of the season is here.

The playing squad take on a Sidcup II side at Broad Walk, Charlton Park's home ground, under flood lights. There have been many new recruits over the summer to mix in with the regular faces from last year. Each and every one of them will be trying to make an impression to remind Head Coach Phil Ubee why they should be selected when the first league game comes around on the 9th September.

Sidcup II will be strong opposition. Their 1st XV now play in National Division 3 London & South East and the 2nd XV play in the Kent Invicta leagues. Phil Ubee will be returning to a team that he had great success at, coaching them up the divisions, so this may be a preseason friendly but for all sides concerned there will be a lot at stake, whether it be bragging rights or putting a mark on a 1st XV shirt for both sides.

The match kicks off at 7.45pm. If you have a spare evening this would be a great opportunity to come and spy on the new talent the club has welcomed in this year. We hope to see as many of you there as possible.
