This weekend the A XV are flying solo on Saturday for sides representing the club. They are hoping to follow on the clubs form from last weekend where the 1st XV and the minis section both came away with positive outcomes.
They face off against Blackheath Bandits at Well Road. This side have been a bit hit and miss this season with 2 walkover to their name but with it being a cup weekend I am sure the oldest independent club managed to find some players to fill the gaps.
Again this is a side the A XV didn't play last season but were from the league above before the re-shuffle. Blackheath are always a tough opposition to come up against and normally have strength in depth. They also have a tendency to play on the AstroTurf pitch that is at Well Hall which will be a first for a lot of players within the ODs side. Here's hoping that the ODs cope well with the new conditions and come away with a win. It's even stevens in the league at the moment for the A XV with a win and a loss to their name. A win over Blackheath would firmly cement their ability to compete in this tougher league. Just what the A XV have wanted.
The match has a 3pm KO. If you are free, as there are no other games on for the club, come on down to support. It would be muchly appreciated.
