Matt was a true warrior in every sense. One of our most decorated players, he represented the Barbarians, England students, Blackheath, Leeds and Bristol – where he was captain for four seasons – and also enjoyed a distinguished career in rugby league.

Having made Bristol his home, Matt was an inspirational leader of sport at Clifton College, guiding so many young players on and off the field. He was also respected and loved not just at Clifton RFC but across the entire rugby community.

A devoted family man, he embodied passion, commitment, leadership, strength and integrity. We are proud to call him a teammate and friend.

Our thoughts and prayers are wholeheartedly with Charlotte, Isabella and Fergus.
