If you do not already know, Phil has recently been diagnosed with motor neurone disease. This incurable neuromuscular condition causes progressive weakness and is rare, but has attracted more attention recently thanks to the efforts of other affected former players, Doddie Weir and Rob Burrow.

This has been incredibly tough for Phil, Jo and their family. They have shown unbelievable strength and courage, but they need our help. If you are lucky enough to count him as a friend, you will know Phil would never dream of asking himself, so we're doing this for him.

The donations will be used both to help Phil and Jo, but also a good slug of the money raised will go to the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) as Phil wants a cure found for those affected in the future, as much as anyone else.

As well as the Crowdfunding page, we'll be organising a fundraising match for Phil at the Old Dunstonian RFC early in the New Year, Full details to follow!

Also, Phil attends home fixtures at the ODs on Saturdays (upcoming dates: 7th December, 26th December, 11th January and 18th January).
