The first period saw the old boys run in 5 tries as Bromley struggled to put in the first up tackles. Once fly half Bryant Hall started directing play through the outside channels the old boys had too much pace for their opponents.
Turning around 30 points to the good meant that the contest was effectively over, so credit to Bromley for their spirited performance in the second period. They enjoyed the majority of possession and territory in the half but didn’t get much change from a resolute D’s defence. It wasn’t until the final moments that they realised that they could unpick the door lock rather than attempt to boot it down, and they scored a nice try when the Bromley centre ran a good line off the fly halfs shoulder to score under the posts. This however simply negated a try from the old boys moments earlier, Hall putting away centre Connolly who had too much pace for the Bromley cover, the Aussie making 60 metres for a classy finish.

Next week see the Old Boys visit Warlingham, a side to whom we lost twice last year and who are currently third in the table so another challenging afternoon awaits. After the disappointent of not getting past East Grinstead in their last league outing the old boys will be keen to return to winning ways.
