Skipper Keith Boyd scored the game's first try, an advantage that was doubled following Joe Burford's score. D's dominated the closing stages of the half but couldn't add to Burford's converted try as Mids scrambling defence held on. Turning round to kick up the slope with a 7 point lead, Gee and Mids fly half Dan Crouch took it in turns to punish various indiscretions by both sides. The best moments of the half were both owned by Nick Mott. He prevented the Mids 13 touching down having crossed the line unhindered as he slid underneath the player before wrestling the ball from his grasp. He then scored the old boys final try, alertly slipping the cover to touch down.

Motts heroics didn't keep Mids out for long as they fractured the D's tight 5 at the resultant scrummage for a pushover try, and with Crouch punishing D's consistently with a succession of 3 pointers Mids remained within arms length. Indeed, rather than D's scoring the fourth try that would have earned a bonus point, it was Crouch who secured a losing bonus for Mids as he took them to within 6 points with the final kick of the game.

This win sees D's league position improve to 8th, swopping places with Mids. Next weekend sees the old boys venture to Aylesford who have put together an impressive run of results after a stuttering start.
