So our punishment has finally been dished out by the RFU. The 1st XV, with 2 much needed bonus point wins and an extra bonus point, sit 11th in the league, one place off the bottom, on -4 points. A mountain that is very possible to conquer by the end of the season.
This week the club welcome Gillingham Anchorians to Park Langley. Their current league results have been mixed. 3 loses but 2 wins. Notably they won 27-12 against Aylesford Bulls the side last week the 1st XV struggled to put to bed over the 80mins and giving up a valuable bonus point.
Last year there was only one fixture that can be used to gauge the strength of the Gillingham side. In this fixture the 1st XV lost 30-19. This years OD side has taken a little while to settle down but now a regular XV can be seen to be emerging each Saturday helping the side gel and perform well in spells.
With a larger than normal crowd expected due to it being WAGS day at the club, our fingers are crossed that the 1st XV can be cheered on to another victory to put our league points back in the black.
